First Three Days in Cairo

Well, the young ladies and I made it to Egypt--finally!!! It certainly was not the smoothest flight, but we arrived safely after 11+ hours in the air from NYC to Cairo. To the left is a picture of the girls waiting in the Detroit airport.

We departed Detroit at 3 PM on Thursday and arrived in Cairo on Friday around 5 PM. It was nearly 7 by the time we arrived at ISC-Cairo, so we quickly unpacked and went to the cafeteria for dinner. The rest of the night was spent meeting new friends and getting acquainted with old friends, but most of us went to be fairly early as we were tired from the long trip and the seven-hour time difference.

Saturday was our first full day at camp and we started the day with a introductory session followed by a few icebreakers. After lunch we traveled to TGIF's for dinner; the food is not that good, but the restaurant is right on the banks of the historic Nile River, so the view is pretty good. To the right is a picture of the Flint contingent in the restaurant.

We will write much more tomorrow--and post more pictures--but right now we are very tired and all in need of a good night's rest!
